The second I heard this young man's voice, my heart stopped. Imagine Nick Drakes spirit coupled with the simple sincerity of James Taylor and you have Matt Butcher. Hailing from Orlando, Florida, this 25 year old is unafraid of '60s and '70s comparisons stating: “I wear my influences on my sleeve. Proudly. I’m not trying to re-invent the wheel. Just keep it spinning.” With the lack of heart-felt sincerity on MTV these days, that sounds good to me. Matt Butchers timelessness is his charm. Give his myspace a listen and you'll be smitten.
